DAVO CITY (MINDANEWS/6 Aug) – Saila E. Abdulla, an agricultural scientist from Maguindanao, has been named the Officer-in-Cost (OIC) of the Bureau of Agricultural Analysis (BAR).
Agriculture Below-Secretary Leocadio S. Sebastian signed a particular order final August 3 on Abdulla’s designation as OIC director, efficient August 15.
“As such, Dir. Abdulla shall carry out the capabilities, duties and duties contained within the designation and such others as could also be directed by the undersigned and the Secretary,” the order reads.
Former Agriculture Secretary Manny Pinol stated Abdulla was a “good selection” for the place.

Abdulla, 50, who hails from West Patadon within the city of Matalam in northern Cotabato, was govt director of the Philippine Rice Analysis Institute from July 2016 to September 2019. Abdulla earned a bachelor’s diploma in agriculture on the College of Southern Mindanao in Kabakan, North Cotabato cum Laud, and joined PhilRice in September 1996 as a junior researcher.
